Japchae Recipe
Japchae is a popular Korean dish that is described as a type of stir fry. The main ingredients are beef, sweet potato noodles, carrot, red bell pepper, shiitake mushroom,spinach and onion.
What is Japchae?
Japchae literally means mixed vegetables. It is an important dish for traditional festivals and special occasions.
How to restore leftovers?
Remaining Japchae should remain refrigerated. It will keep well for 3 and up to 4 days.
Ingerdients
- 200g Beef Rib-Eye (cut into strips)
- 1/2 onion (sliced)
- 100g Shiitake mushroom (sliced)
- 1/4 Red bell pepper (sliced)
- 1pc medium carrots (sliced)
- 250g sweet potato noodles
- 100g spinach
- 1pc egg
- oil
Beef Marinated
- 1tablespoon Soy sauce
- 1tablespoon Sugar
- 1/4teaspoon Ground black pepper
- 1/2teaspoon minced garlic
Sauce
- 4tablespoons Soy sauce
- 1tablespoon Sesame oil
- 1tablespoon Sugar
- 2tablespoons minced garlic
- 1/8teaspoon ground black pepper
- Salt to taste
Procedure
- Put the beef strips in a bowl and add the beef marinade and slowly mix the sauce with the meat.
- Prepare other ingredients such as carrots, onion, shiitake mushroom, red bell pepper.
- Boil the sweet potato noodles for about 10 minutes or until they soften.
- When it soften. Rinse and wash in running water. Drain and put in the made sauce.
- Boil the spinach. Rinse and wash with running water. Drain and transfer it to the large bowl.
- Break an egg and seperate the white and yellow.
- Fry and thinly slice the white and yellow. Set aside
- Saute the onion with a little salt over low heat until it softens. Transfer it to the large bowl.
- Saute carrots with a little salt over medium heat until soften. Transfer it to the large bowl.
- Saute the red bell pepper wth a little salt over medium heat until it soften. Transfer it to the large bowl.
- Saute the Shiitake mushroom over low to medium heat. Transfer it to the large bowl.
- Saute the marinated beef and cook for 3-5 minutes on medium heats. Transfer it to the large bowl.
- Saute the sweet potato noodles on medium heat and add all the ingredients. Transfer it to the large bowl.
- Add remaining ingredients sesame oil and sesame seed. Stir it slowly.
- Add the fried egg.
- Serve and enjoy.
