The Mother fall is a hidden gem tat can be found in Barangay San Luis, Aurora. Before reaching the falls you have to trek for about 30-40 minutes from the jump-off point. It is called Mother falls because it is the largest waterfall in the province of Aurora and it is still in the middle of Sierra Madre.

The trek to the waterfall has rocks, bamboo bridges and a fordable stream that won’t reach your knees. Most of the trail is under the surrounding forest. You won’t even feel the heat because the air here is so fresh.

The water is very clear and the rocks create charming mini-cascade. You can also see here a small waterfall with a height of about 40feet. This is where they get a drink because this water is clean.

Just a few meters upstream from the small waterfalls a concrete weir was built acroos the stream.

After a few minutes of walking, you will reach the Ditumabo Mother Fall which is 42meter (140feet) high and falls into a cold basin. There are parts that can be bathed here and there are parts that cannot. Don’t worry because the tour guide will tell y ou where you can take a bath here. It’s worth going here because you can enjoy the falls.

Along the way you will also see different types of plants and flowers.

You can also pass by a tree that they says when it blooms red it means that there is a tribe that pull out the head or head haunting them on the mountain. This is called “Ilongot tribe” but this was in ancient times.

• From Baler Municipality, Ride a tricycle or passenger car to the registration area of Ditomabo Mother Falls in San Luis. The travel time is approximately 45 minutes.
