Seafood boil
This seafood boil is an old recipe perfect for family gathering, reunion at occasions. Ut is best made outside and serve on a picnic table. Its main ingredients are mussels, crabs, shrimps and squids.
Ingredients:
- 2pcs sweetcorn (cut into 4)
- 3pcs potato (cut into 4)
- 3tablespoons Cajun powder
- 3tablespoons black ground pepper
- 2tablespoons chili powder (optional)
- 1pc lemon or 15pcs calamansi (squeezed)
- 2pcs bulb garlic (minced)
- 200grams butter
- 1/2kg mussel (clean)
- 1/2kg shrimp (clean)
- 1kg crab (clean)
- 1/2kg squid (slice)
Procedure:
- Put one liter of water in the pot. Add corn and potatoes. Boil it until it soften.
- When the corn and potatoes are soften. Drain them and set aside.
- Boil the crab in the same pot. Cover it and boil for (10) ten minutes or until the crab turns orange.
- When the crab turns orange. Remove it and set aside until it cools down.
- After the crab has cooled. Open the crab and just slice it in the middle.
- Boil the shrimp in the same pot and let it cook until it turns orange.
- Wash a mussels and place them in a preheated pan and let them cook for up to (8) eight minutes.
- After cooking, Remove it and set aside.
- Slice the squid depending on the size you want.
- Boit it for about (10) ten minutes. Drain and set aside.
- In a clean bowl mix cajun powder, cayenne powder and ground black pepper.
- In the Preheated pot put 200g of butter. Just mix and melt it.
- After the butter melts, Add the minced garlic. Saute it for (3) three minutes.
- Add the mixed dried spices.
- Stir until blended. Add chili powder (optional) and lemon or calamansi.
- Stir and let it simmer for a minute.
- Add the boiled seafood, sweetcorn and potatoes.
- Mix well until all the sauce is coated.
- Transfer to a serving plate or place on a banana leaf.
