Romblon is known as the Marble Capital of the Philippines due to the abundance of marble found here, Which become one of the main sources of livelihood fot the locals but there is another thing in abundance here is glistening beaches, historic landmarks and a towering mountain in this underrated destination in the Philippines.

  • Bonbon beach– It is located in the Municipality of Romblon. Bonbon beach lines the (2) two edges of a keep so it is very scenic both side have light-colored sand lapped up by various shades of blue but the most prominent of feature is its tip that has a long sandbar extending towards smaller uninhabited island being called Bang-ong Island especially during low-tide There is no commercial establishment here except for a guest house that serves as an entrance to the beach. The most popular destination in the area. The beach is very calm and a hidden gem. Very fine , white sand and very clear water. The sandbar stretches fro almost (2) two kilometers. It is one of the longest sandbars in the Philippines. During low-tide the sandbar presents itself as a beautiful strip of powdery white sand with crystalline water on the both sides, At high tide parts of the snadbar submerge, but it still offers a shallow path. There are (2) two entrances to Bon-bon. One is through a private property that charges a small entrance fee and offers toilet and bath facilities. An entrance is located a few meters north of the first entrance. Its only free entrance (as for now but it is possible to change). It’s worth it if you go it is also surrounded by trees and plants.

How to go Bonbon beach
  • From the center of town, A short tricycle ride can take you to the jump-off point. Although secluded this beach is hidden from the main road by lush vegetation. It’s really just a short walk less than 5 minutes from the road.
  • Talipasak beach (San Pedro beach)– On the south side of the town center, Talipasak beach can be found. A secluded beach that those looking for peace and quiet will love. It is shorter that Bonbon but still very idyllic. It’s relaxing to watch, especially while you’re just chilling on the swings. The sand is cream in color with larger grains and also has round corals. The turquoise and darl blue layers of the water here are a winner and the clarity is different when you get up close. This beach is occupied by San Pedro Beach Resort which you can visit on a day trip or overnight. You can bring your own food but you can also inquire if they have a Menu available. The amenities here are basic but the scenery makes up for it.

How to get to Talipasak beach
  • From the town center, hire a tricycle to take you to San Pedro Beach Resort. The fare starts at Php200.00 for 2-3 persons. The travel time is 30-15 minutes.
  • Cobrador Island– Just a boat ride from the Romblon Town you will reach Cobrador Island. One of the islands dotiing the nortern waters of the province. The Cobrador is mostly rocky but the southwest coast is filled with fair sand so tourist also visit it. The beach here is mixture of fine and corse sand and has parts made of crushed corals and shells. There is a community here in fact there is a functioning elementary school on the main beach. Here you can also see the Tinagong Dagat a natural salt water pool but now is temporarily closed. Not far away there is a Rocky Islet where you can go ciff diving (Cascaroo Islet). It is difficult to dock here when the waves are strong. Cobrador Island is one of the stops on the three island tour including the nearby Logbon and Alad Islands.

Alad Island– is another inhabited island that boasts clean and uncrowded beaches with ivory sand. A marine sanctuary the waters surrounding the island offer excellent snorkeling and diving spots on both the west and east coasts and are home to many species of fish and soft and hard corals.

How to go to Cobrador Island
  • From the Romblon Port. Book an island hopping tour which usually includes Logbon island and Alad island in the itinerary. The travel time from Romblon to Cobrador island is about 45 minutes.
  • Binucot Beach (Tablas Island)– On the other side of the province lies tablas island and here you can see the town of Ferrol. Which also has many good places to visit like Binucot beach. As far as the first sight of it from the Marinor Mountain View Resort. It is very picturesque because it consists of two coves that meet in the middle where they form a short sandbar that stretches to another island. In the nortern cove the sand part is wider and steeper but it is longer in the soutern cove. There are also huts here where you can rest. There are also snorkeling areas here. It was declared a marine protected area in 2009 because of its biodiversity, Many of which are rare or threatened, including some corals and sea turtles.

  • Bel-at Point– At the soutern tip of Binucot Beach There is another small coved bookmarked by limestone cliffs this is Bel-at Point. In the middle there is a boarded walkway leading to a small overwater gazebo that also serves as a viewing deck.

  • Tiamban Beach– This is another beach destination near the town center. It is shorter than Bonbon beach, beautiful, and covered with fine, light colored sand. It is also an amazing sunset spot.

  • Carabao Island– This is the msot popular attractions in Romblon because of its proximity and accessibility from Boracay. Also known as Hambil Island. It is part of San Jose. The southernmost municipality of Romblon.
