MOUNT KABUNIAN

Mount.Kabunian is a popular hiking destination in the municipality of Bakun in the Province of Benguet. It is called aslo has a height of 1789 meters above sea level. Climbing Mount.Kabunian takes approximately 3-4 hours.

The highlight in Mount.Kabunian is the Tekgad Camsit or also known as The stairway to heaven for mountaineers because it gives mountaineers the feeling climbing to heaven.


The Jump off point here is at Brgy,Poblacion. The opening trail is a paved path that passes some local houses. Then, the trail becomes a long decent into a green forest for about 25 minutes. Then you have to go through the first hanging bridge with a length of 12 meters.

The next trail has a moderate climb up the side of the mountain with a lot of pines trees. Until it became an open trail with few trees covering it from the direct heat of the sun.

When you reach the sign of Mount.Kabunian, The difficult trail will start here, and there will be a hanging bridge across again. Good thing this trail has handrails so at least that helps. Just be careful when walking becuase it is right next to the cliff. If you take one wrong step you will surely fall but don’t worry because there is barrier so just be doble careful.

What they call The stairway to heaven is a staircase that goes up steeply so it is hard to climb but it is okay because there is a handle. It is also worth climbing here because of the view you will see.

As you get closer and closer to the summit the trail becomes more and more difficult especially in the assault because the road is steep, while walking you will see also (Mt.Gedgeyadan this is the neighborhood of the rock mountain that blocks the view of Mt.Kabunian). There are many trails but it is scary because there is a cliff on the side so it is really hard to walk.

It is worth climbing here because from the summit you can see the carrot peak of Mt.Tenglawan from the right side and Mt.Patullok from the left side. Relaxing and enjoying the surrounding and being refreshed by the mountain brezze.

Mangta Falls- has a crystalline water. It can be visited after trekking in Mt.Kabunian. You will definitely like it here. The natural pool is about 12 feet deep.
