Mt.Gulugod Baboy is a beginner-friendly mountain with an elevation of 525+ MASL. It has easy access and many resting stations. The view is amazing and the island of Sombrero and Tingloy are clearly visible. It is located in Anilao, Mabini, Batangas. It features a panoramic view of bays, rolling hills covered in green and some prominent mountains to the south.

Mt.Gulugod baboy has (3) three peaks. First (1st) is Mt.Gulugod which stands at a height of 470MASL. Second (2nd) is the middle one with a height if 485MASL and Third (3rd) is Pinagbanderahan with a height of 525+ MASL.

According to history a Japanese plane crashed into the mountain before. Fortunately some of the Japanese crew who were on board the plane crash survived because of this they raised a flag on the mountain and called the mountain “Pinagbanderahan”.

Batangas has been a favorite hiking destination for a long time as it is a popular hiking spot for beginners due to its easy trail that lead to rolling hills, grassland and panoramic views of the coastal sea surrounding the province.

The main jump-off point is at Philpan Dive Rresort in Barangay Anilao, Mabini, Batangas. Trekking takes 2-3 hours depending on how you walk and rest.

The first step is a concrete road while going up and up there are many huffs. The trail is very direct just follow it and you won’t get lost. Settlers can be seen along the trail and even resting stations offering drinks and food for mountaineers.

The first peak is on the left if you are coming from a long hike and the other two are on the right next to each other. Regardless of which peak you stand on. Its peaks have a 360degree view of bays. hills and mountains.

How to go to Mt.Gulugod Baboy

Via Bus
  • From Cubao Bus terminal, ride a Jam Liner bus going to Batangas City Grand terminal or From Buendia ride DLTB bus going to Batangas City Grand terminal.
  • From Batangas Grand Terminal, ride a jeep going to Mabini then drop off at the tricycle terminal.
  • Then ride a tricycle and tell the driver to drop you off at the Mt.Gulugod Baboy reegistration desk.

There is also resort to their registration area called Philpan Diving Resort. You can also overnight here. The price depends on the day you go and how many people you have.
