Adobo refers to a common cooking process indigenous to the Philippines. The main ingredients are vinegar, soysauce, black pepercorns, and bay leaves. The dish usually cook with pork meat and chicken. You can also mix the pork and chicken if you want.


Ingredients

  • 1 kilo pork/chicken (cut)
  • 1 teaspoon whole peppercorn
  • 5 pieces bay leaves
  • 8 cloves of garlic (minced)
  • 1 onion medium size (slice)
  • 10 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 6 tablespoons vinegar
  • ½ cup water
  • 3tablespoons cooking oil
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 medium potatoes (cut)
  • 4 boiled egg
  • Brown sugar (optional if you like it a little sweeter)

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil the cooking pot.
  2. Add garlic and onion. Saute.
  3. Put the pork or chicken in the cooking pot. Stir and cook until golden brown.
  4. Pour soysauce, vinegar and water. Let it boil. Cover and cook on low heat.
  5. Add the peppercorn and bayleaves. Let it boil. Cover and cook until the meat is tender.
  6. Taste the adobo and decide to add salt if needed.
  7. Ready to eat. Enjoy 🙂
