Guimaras is known for its agricultural crops, particularly mangoes, half of all exported mangoes come from this island. The island is famous for producing one of the sweetest manoes and Guimaras is also called the “MANGO CAPITAL OF THE PHILIPPINES”.
How to go to Guimaras
Via Airplane
- There are no direct flights to Guimaras. The easier way is to Fly to Iloilo From Manila or wherever you are.
Iloilo to Guimaras Port
- Iloilo is the best jump-off point because the ferry rise is only 15 minutes from Jordan Wharf or Buenavista Wharf.
- When you arrive in Jordan o Buenavista Port, You must first register at the tourism health desk. Don’t worry because when you ge here, many people will approach you about what you can go to.
What can be visited in Guimaras?
- Smallest Plaza in the Philippines– It is only 5 minutes travel from Jordan Port. It is less than 300sqm located in Municipality of Jordan, The center of Guimaras. Its centerpiece is the statue of our hero Dr.Jose Rizal in the back there is a stage and chairs that you can hang out on.
- Trappist Monastery & Pasalubong Center– Almost all the tourist who come to Guimaras pass through here because of the wide variety of their souvenir item and religious item are one of them. They also have food items that you will surely enjoy. They also have a chapel here you can also take a walk in their garden where the vibes are really nature. Open daily from 08:00AM-04:00PM.

- Guisi Lighthouse– The flight took off about 30minutes before reaching the registration area of Guisi Lighthouse. These ruins are located in Nueva Valencia. It was created in 1894 that served as a navigational guide for fishermen and marine vessels. It is the second oldest lighthouse in the Philippines. The materials used here were from France, Portugal and England but due to the passage of time, it was completely damaged. That is why there is a new lighthouse standing. Guisi is known for the ruins for Spanish-era lighthouse that provide stunning view of the sea and stunning beach enclave below.

- Guimaras Wind Farm– is located in San Lorenzo. There are many windmills here that you can visit in person to see how big it is and how beautiful the view is.
- Tatlong Pulo Beach– The trip here is about 1 hour from Jordan Port. This is a white sand beach in Jordan. It gets its name from the (3) three karst formations. The place is beautiful and peaceful. The best view here is the sunset. If you are looking for tranquility with a clean coast the tatlong pulo beach is the right place for you.

- Taklong Island National Marine Reserve– It is located in San Roque, before reaching it you have to ride a boat. This is a island hopping tour. While on the boat you will amazed by the view you will see.
Piagao Island– is the first stop. Here they have a long mangrove that you can tour because they have a boardwalk. They have a lighthouse style here which you can climb to see the beautiful and amazing view of the island.
Sandbar– The second stop. The sand is fine and white. The sea water is clear. The air is fresh and the place is quiet. You will surely like it.
The floating barge– The third stop, The place is amazing. It’s really worth your time to come here, you won’t regret the place. It stands in the center of the island. It seems that all your problem will disappear for a short time when you come here.

- Alobijod Cove Resort– The flight is approximately 20-30 minutes from Pasalubong center. It is a resort located in the municipality of Nueva Valencia, Guimaras. This is a hotel and resort so you can stay here overnight. They offer large, exquisite and affordable rooms. They also have a balcony for relaxing and sight-seeing. The location of the resort is good just walking distance to the beach. The room was clean and cozy.

The best time to visit Guimaras is from September to December. When the city is decorated for the holidays with lights are other decorations.
